Tha House

Tha House, Madrid

Tha House is a multidisciplinary creative platform dedicated to empowering creatives to produce work on their own terms. We support artists, artisans, architects, performers, designers, galleries, and other cultural practitioners through financial backing, production support, visibility, and long-term collaboration.

Rather than imposing a fixed creative direction, Tha House creates the conditions for exceptional work to emerge organically. The only true criterion is excellence, guided by our own curatorial vision and sensibility. Projects developed in collaboration with Tha House carry the designation “POWERED by THA HOUSE”, much like athletes supported by sports sponsors. Through this model, we aim to build a recognizable cultural identity associated with quality, experimentation, integrity, and excellence across disciplines.

Proposal

For this edition of SWAB Barcelona, THA HOUSE, Madrid presents a dialogue between the works of Ana Piba, Juan Antón, and Martina Rodriguez Moran, three distinct practices that intersect through a shared attention to materiality, light, and surface. The booth is conceived as an organic environment in which painting, ceramics, and jewelry coexist as complementary forms. The presentation moves fluidly between object and image, surface and space, creating subtle correspondences between the artists’ individual visual languages.

Ana Piba

Ana Piba studied 3D animation while working in mural painting and graphic arts. She later found in ceramics a language of expression, which led her to develop an ongoing research into ceramic glazes. She subsequently trained in classical jewellery at the Guild of Jewellers and in contemporary jewellery at Arte 3 School of Jewellery, where she explored the dialogue between materials and their expressive possibilities.

She has worked as a jeweller with designers including Andrés Gallardo and Beatriz Palacios. She currently works as a jeweller at the workshop Jampe.

Martina Rodriguez Moran

Martina Rodriguez Moran also draws inspiration from nature, particularly from the ever-changing reflections found on the surface of water. Her paintings explore luminosity, movement, and perception through layered metallic textures and reflective materials that continually shift according to the light and the viewer’s perspective. Oscillating between abstraction and landscape, her works evoke the instability and fluidity of natural reflection, transforming the painted surface into a site of continuous visual change.

In dialogue with these painterly investigations, Ana Piba presents a collection of jewellery and ceramic works developed in collaboration with and powered by THA HOUSE. Her sculptural objects extend the tactile and material language of the booth into a three-dimensional realm, blurring the boundaries between functional object, sculpture, and ornament.

Together, the presentation reflects THA HOUSE’s ongoing interest in fostering exchanges across disciplines and artistic practices, where contemporary painting, ceramics, jewellery, and craft-based processes coexist within a shared, immersive contemporary landscape.
