Les pralinés – pour tous (Basel)

Les pralinés – pour tous is an independent art project that started in 2025 at Frobenstrasse 41 in Basel, a former chocolate factory. Run by 3 artists and involving around 50 people from art, design, and organizing, it hosted exhibitions, pop-ups, workshops, and readings, giving space to young and not-yet-established creatives to try things out, meet each other, and get seen.

Since leaving Frobenstrasse, Les pralinés has no fixed address. It now looks for new places to work with, moving between different spaces rather than settling into one. The name „Les pralinés – pour tous“ still points back to where it started, standing not only for something sweet, but for something good and a bit special, made for everyone rather than for a select few.

Proposal

Les pralinés – pour tous presents at SWAB installations and objects by Jeremias Fries (*1999), an artist based in Basel working with found and repurposed material; glass, wallpaper, soot, discarded objects collected from the street or salvaged from institutional backrooms.
Collecting, archiving, and recombining are central to his practice. Materials, images, and myths are recycled, misused, and rearranged into unresolved, liminal spaces where it stays unclear what has been staged and what simply belongs.

Jeremias Fries

Jeremias Fries (*1999) is an inter-indisciplinary artist based in Basel. A lustful world builder and intuitively acting overthinker. He works from a place of calculated naïveté dealing with complexity and overstimulation. A self-proclaimed Taugenichts. Jeremias plays with autofiction and references too grand for such a small man.

Fries is drawn to adjacent spaces. Through subtle shifts, precise material choices and a dry sense of humour, he creates situations in which it remains unclear what has been deliberately staged and what might simply belong.
