EXs (L’Hospitalet del Llobregat)

EXs is an independent space dedicated to the production and dissemination of contemporary artistic practices. Based in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, it builds bridges between the art scenes of Spain and Latin America, with a particular focus on Argentina. Its mission is to promote cultural exchange and the circulation of art, fostering dialogues, encounters, and new connections between artists, curators, institutions, and other cultural agents.

Proposal

ladra muy lejos del río brings together the practices of Jazmín Giudici (Rosario, 1994) and Leire Lacunza Miranda (Donosti, 1996), in a proposal that emerged from an exhibition curated by Eva Paià and was awarded the SWAB Prize as part of Art Nou. The project brings word and drawing into dialogue as catalysts that take shape through different materialities and gestures: threading, weaving, evoking, hammering, and drawing. Lacunza’s beads and nails coexist with Giudici’s drawings and paintings, creating an immersive space that articulates different relationships around memory, the body, and apparition.

Leire Lacunza Miranda

Leire Lacunza Miranda (Donosti, 1996). Her imaginary world is composed of eroded images, fragmented messages, palimpsests, and the profuse ornamentation of the Baroque; drawings that exert pressure against the limits of a capital or a fluorescent tube, spill across an entire village square, project themselves into the infinite sky, or create a stain on the retina. Working with popular materials, she proposes altering the objects that surround us and aesthetically appropriating them: customising household lamps, perforating the ceiling of a room, scratching the drawings on coins, or making impossible-to-wear necklaces.

She studied Fine Arts and completed a Master’s degree in Painting at EHU/UPV. She has continued her education through programmes and workshops such as Kinu 11+1 with Ibon Aranberri (2024) and the JAI artistic practices programme (2024), while combining predoctoral research with her artistic practice. She has developed the latter through grants such as APA. Ayudas a la Práctica Artística (eremuak, 2024) and the Visual and Plastic Arts Grant from the Basque Government (2025, 2024, and 2022), as well as through national and international residencies at Shangyuan Art Museum (Beijing, 2019), BilbaoArte (Bilbao, 2021), Tabakalera (Donostia, 2022), Dinamoa (Azpeitia, 2023), Arteta (ezprogui) (Ezprogui, 2025), and Morpho (Antwerp, 2026).

She has presented her work in exhibitions including Noches Encendidas (Citadel of Iruña, 2025), Resbalar (una cosa) (Can Felipa, 2024), Un cuadrado de terciopelo negro (Bosteko, 2024), Minas a cielo abierto. Z·lrra ·rg· z·ri b·hrtu (Narata, 2023), and amp. XXVIII ZAURIA/LESIÓN (Okela, 2022). She has also carried out actions in exhibition spaces and in the public realm, including Un efecto del sol (BilbaoArte, 2025; Kampai, 2024; and Tabakalera, 2022), Cerrar ventanas (Artium, 2024), and The World is a Picture of the World (Arrigorriaga, 2025). In 2023, she published the artist’s book El fin del no. La muerte futuro.
